Alice's Restaurant, The Lady of Shalott, the Edmund Fitzgerald and More, this Week on Come by the Hills!

Hello! Sara Hillis here once again to let you know that I've got a rather eclectic three hours of Folk and celtic music for you this week on Come by the Hills! We'll play the eighteen-minute awesomeness that is Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie in honour of the reluctant heroine of the song, Alice Brock, who died at the age of eighty-three just a week before American Thanksgiving. This is rather poetic, given the plot of the song. But that's not all! I've got another long song, The Lady of Shalott, by Loreena McKennitt, as one of the last tunes to honour the thirty-year milestone of the beginning of my interest in Folk and Celtic music during the month of November, 1994. But wait! There's more! Before the end of November, I need to play The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot, as the ship itself sank on November 10th, 1975. We'll even have the first timid hints of Christmas, courtesy of Harry Chapen. So hang on tight! Come by the Hills is coming your way soon!

Catch the live broadcast of Come by the Hills on Sunday at 8:00 PM, or check out the replay on Tuesday at 5:00 AM. Enjoy!
