Two changes to our schedule, one permanent, one temporary

We're letting you know about a permanent and temporary change to the Mushroom FM schedule.

First the permanent one. Gordon Luke, one of our longest-serving fun guys, is hanging up the headphones due to extensive work commitments. We are profoundly grateful for the years of great entertainment Gordon has provided, and we have fingers crossed that he'll be back on the air when his schedule permits. Gordon's not leaving us completely. He will continue to be doing valuable work in the engine room at Mushroom FM, keeping our website shiny and functional.

Hard act to follow though he is, we do need to find something to bring you at 4 PM on a Wednesday, and again at midnight on a Saturday. Starting this week, you can hear Spencer James, with Airplay 40 Rewind. Each week, Spencer will pick one year for each hour of his two-hour show. He'll play some great music from that year, and even throw in a few items of news and historical facts from the year in question. But he won't tell you right away what the year is. Your job is to see if you can guess the year.

Next, a temporary schedule change to tell you about. Anthony's taking a break for the next three weeks, so Anthony Unleashed won't be on the air during that period. It's time to step up, because we're putting you in charge, with our Mushroom FM Request Stop. If you've not used our interactive request system before, it is quite genius! During a request stop slot, you'll find a link on our home page to enter the request system. From there, you can search our database of songs, find one you like, and request it to be played. It's simple and fully accessible.

To ensure fairness for everyone, there are limits around how many requests you can make at any time.

Even though Anthony Unleashed usually replays in the evening Eastern time, the request stop is new, so you have an opportunity to request something whether you're listening at 9 AM or 9 PM.
