Remembering Robbie Robertson this week on the Early Years!

After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years where and when you'll hear the best music from the first half of the Rock and Roll era with nods to other decades and genres.
I'm back from my month break with an all new show this week as I remember Robbie Robertson who passed away August 9 at the age of 80. Most people remember him as a member of The Band, for his movie work and his later solo career; but his musical story begins much earlier.
This week, I'll play music he recorded with Ronnie Hawkins before he was a Hawk, while he was a member of Ronnie Hawkins and The Hawks, after the Hawks left Ronnie Hawkins and became Levon and The Hawks, when he played in Bob Dylan's first electric backup band and on two subsequent albums, to the Band's early recordings with Bob dylan on The "Basement Tapes" recording sessions, and finally to the release of "Music From Big Pink".
I'll pick up his story next week.
