Remembering Harry Chapin this week on The Early Years!
After you've enjoyed Come By The Hills with Sara Hillis, tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 to 05:00, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac or smart speaker and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
On July 16, 1981, 41 years ago tomorrow, singer, songwriter and philanthropist, Harry Chapin, was killed while driving his car on the Long Island Expressway on his way to a charity concert. He was 38.
This week, I will remember one of the best singer-songwriters of the 1970s by playing his well-known hits and some less familiar album material. His career lasted only nine years but he gave us some unforgettable music.
