Tributes and memories this week on The Early Years!
Join me in The Early Years tomorrow afternoon at 05:00 where and when you'll enjoy the best music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades and genres.
Before I talk about this week's show, I'd like to thank Bruce Toews for filling in Dec. 5. As I said the last time we were together Nov. 28, he was planning to do The Early Years Dec. 12 which he did and his Christmas Novelty Special last week which he also did. He wasn't expecting to have to do the Dec. 5 show too but due to the sudden and unexpected death of my only sibling, Bruce, Nov. 30, I am truly grateful for his help.
This week, one seasonal version comparison, five of my late brother's favourite songs from the 50s and 60s, tributes to Charlie Pride and Chad Stuart whom we lost since I was last with you, and my favourite song tribute to the year just ending, "Old 365", whether it was a year like 2020 or a normal year.
Next week, I'm dedicating the show to my friends, Robert A. and Carol in Sherwood Park, AB as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary that day. I was there! If you have any suggestions appropriate for the occasion, send them along.
You can contact me any time by email at steve at mushroomfm.com with comments about the show and suggestions for future shows.
So join me, Steve Cutway, in The Early Years, tomorrow afternoon at 05:00 for tributes and memories band then stay tuned for Dan Sweeney's One Hit Wonders and Snow White FM's first radio broadcast from 2014. The show replays Wednesday morning at 07:00 AM after Deep Dive with Graeme Innes and before a Mushroom FM Request Stop while Anthony enjoys a well-earned vacation, only on Mushroom FM, the home of the fun guys, making four decades of magic mushroom memories!
