It's an encore presentation caused by illness tonight on The Early Years!

Join me for The Early Years where you'll enjoy the best variety of music from Rock and Roll's Golden Age (its first quarter century) with an occasional nod to other decades including music from before the rock era.
Your intrepid DJ is out of commission this week with a cold and I doubt that you want to listen to me. So I'm rerunning the show I did October 15, 2017, to mark the 63rd anniversary of Elvis's first appearance on radio outside Memphis.
The Louisiana Hayride was a popular radio show that ran from 1948 to 1960. It introduced countless country, folk and rock artists to a wider audience. Elvis Presley appeared several times on the Hayride between October 16, 1954 and mid-1956. Hear all of his Louisiana Hayride appearances with linking narrative tonight on The Early Years.
