Terry Clasper on Mushroom FM

A warm welcome?

Hi, I'm Terry Clasper, and totally proud to be part of the terrific team of FunGuys at MushroomFM
Thanks for dropping by my web page which will regularly change, so try to make your visits regular if you can!
On this page you can find out:

  • A little about me
  • About the shows I do regularly for the station, and any stand in shows I may occasionally do
  • How to contact me at any time
  • And finally how to download recently broadcast shows, if you are unable to listen live

What can I tell you about me?

Well if you've listened to my shows you'll I'm sure vouch for the fact that I'm a quiet withdrawn introverted kind of guy!
O, so you want the truth, let's start again!
I just love Radio, music, people, a few glasses of the old mineral water, and of course my darling wife Trace who has put up with me for more years than is imaginable.
I've been broadcasting on the radio in a variety of environments for around 25 years, but only came to internet radio around two years ago.
For me radio is about interacting with my audience, understanding the things that are important to them, in the most part having lots of fun, occasionally helping them get through tough times, and of course playing a fantastic mix of music.
As well as presenting I also love listening to the radio, especially shows presented by my fellow fun guys!
Over the past couple of years I've really come to appreciate the true value of internet radio, through which I've made many great friends and broadcasting colleagues.
I hope you enjoy listening to all of my shows and those of other presenters on this wonderful internet radio station.

My regular solo shows

As well as co-presenting the Clasper Commotion with my wife Trace, which you can find out more about from the Clasper Commotion page or by
activating this link
I also present two regular shows on the station.

60s 70s Sunday

This show has been part of MushroomFM since the station was launched, an it's just wonderful that so many people share my passion for these two terrific decades of music.
Generally I feature two years, remembering the UK top 10 from this time back then, as well as playing favourite songs of listeners which bring back memories of the years.
Sometimes rather than this I'll look at a particular chart number across the two decades, for example playing the number 10's from the 60s and 70s from this time.
Then there is the "bit"!
This is a part of the show centred around a theme, sometimes thought of by me but other times and far more interestingly an idea of a listener.
Recently the bit has been about things like:

  • The song that depicts the two decades for you
  • Songs that sound happy, but are actually sad
  • Who you would have entertain you on your first night in heaven?

and much much more!
Finally we have the trivia, and people know far better than to leave a complex thing like that to just me. So, Trace joins me as the Trivia controler, making sure all answers are fairly judged!
And in the show I don't just play those 60s and 70s songs all the normal stations play over and over again!
So put your thinking cap on and why not request a song from the two decades you haven’t heard in ages?

When can the show be heard?

60s 70s Sunday is live each Sunday at 11 AM eastern time, that's 4 PM in the UK.

the Sound of Saturday

The Sound of Saturday brings together music from the past 6 decades and today, as well as several features!
The show is "fast moving", making it the ideal accompaniment to whatever your Saturday consists of.
Listener interaction is the key to this show, and your very welcome to take part in the features in the show, or just make a general request or comment.
The features spread throughout the show include:

  • The song search, where I find a story that has made the news over the previous week, and ask you to centre songs around the story.
  • Across the show we also open the birthday file, and play songs from musical celebritys celebrating birthdays on or around the date of the show.
  • And in hour three its the Time Tunnel, two years, a load of clues, and a whole bunch of tunes, from which you need to guess the year

When can the show be heard?

The sound of Saturday airs at 11 AM eastern, 4 PM UK, each Saturday.
