Chuck in the Mosen Explosion

No particular place to go this weekend? Well, why not head over to Mushroom FM, where entertainment is always on. John Lennon once famously said, "if you were going to give rock and roll another name, you might call it Chuck Berry". Chuck Berry fused the critical elements of rhythm and blues and country to be one of the instrumental figures in the creation of rock and roll. Proving that age catches up with all of us if we live long enough, Sunday is Chuck Berry's 89th birthday. He still performs occasionally, and there are plenty of Chuck Berry classics to play in celebration of his big day. If you have any favourites, get them into the jolly old Explosion, and I'll play them for you.
As I write this leetle message to you, we don't know. We really just don't know! We don't know whether New Zealand will have been plunged into a national depression as a result of the rugby world cup quarter final, or whether we will be heading onto a nail-biting semi. But we will by the time the Explosion hits the air, and no doubt whatever the result, it'll get a mention and elicit comments from listeners who, like us, are following the big event.
We'll bring you this day in history, and maybe even a Bonnie Bulletin and wacky news as well depending on how stricken everyone still is.
It's the Mosen Explosion, back on your Internet radio again this week, on Sunday at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM in the UK, that's Monday morning at 7 AM in New Zealand following Brian and Lulu's Down for Double. Bring your ding-a-ling.
