The Zello app is taking the world by storm, and now you can use it to voice chat to the fun guys and fellow Mushroom FM listeners.

Zello is a push to talk app, and there are versions of it for your PC, Android or iOS device. The PC version can be downloaded from http://www.zello.com, and you can find the apps for your smartphone in the usual places.

Zello lets you talk with people one on one. It's quicker than sending a text message, and of course you get to here the person's voice. But Zello also has a group chat feature known as channels. By joining a channel, you can chat with many people at once who have a common interest. think of it as a high tech CB for the 21st century.

So, download Zello for your platform of choice, and join our channel, the name is mushroomfm.

Let's just talk briefly about how we'll be using the Zello channel. You keep us busy on Mushroom FM, and our priority is putting on a high quality show. so when presenters are actually on the air, it's unlikely you'll see them in the Zello channel. Twitter and email are still the ways to get in touch with the host when their show is on. But some Mushroom FM presenters will be hanging around the Zello channel in their spare time, along with listeners, so pop in and say hi.
