Angie Matney
Thanks so much for stopping by! The two shows that I regularly produced for Mushroom FM are on hiatus. For now, I'm filling in for other presenters whenever I can. Episodes of some of my fill-in shows can be found below. I've left up the descriptions of my other shows for now.
Breakfast Blend
Why Breakfast Blend?
Those who know me know that I absolutely must have my morning coffee if I'm to be functional on a given day. I wanted a coffee-related name for my first show on Mushroom FM.
Lots of companies produce "Breakfast Blend" coffees. As the name suggests, Breakfast Blend coffee is produced by combining several coffee roasts to make something new.
I hope to do the same thing with the musical Breakfast Blend. I have a large music library, and each week, I'll present a musical mix of material recorded over the past five decades. (I'll gladly play older material if I have it.)
Features
Two of a Kind
In this feature, I play two different songs with the same name. I'm not talking about an original and a cover--I mean two completely different songs. We've heard Stairway to Heaven, first by Neil Sedaka and then by Led Zeppelin; Fire, by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown and by the Pointer Sisters; and even two songs called Basket Case (by Green Day and Sara Bareilles). I have lots of pairs of songs like this (and even a few tripples). Of course, you can submit suggestions for this feature, too, by using any of the contact methods below.
Top Five
Most weeks, during the second hour, I'll play the top five songs in the US for a particular week. If there's a particular year or week you'd like me to feature from 1980 or later, use one of the methods listed below to let me know.
Yesterday Once More
Yesterday Once More is an all-70s show. I'm happy to play anything you'd like to hear that was recorded or released in the 1970s. Sometimes, the show will featuer a particular artist or album. Other shows have featured particular years. Some shows have involved special themes, and still others are designed to be all-request shows.
If you like 70s music, you won't want to miss Yesterday Once More! Be there or be square!
